ANNUAL ART SHOWCASE

An online application (Google) form will be available when registration opens. It will remain open until the application deadline. Typically, the application process begins at the begging of the school year (Sept) annually.

Ohio K-12 students from public, private, charter, or online schools and homeschooled students can participate in our annual Battle of the Teal art showcase.

Our program is made possible by the generosity of supporting sponsors and grantmaking organizations. No application or registration fee is required.

The showcase is open to all art themes. We aim to allow applicants to be as creative as they wish without prompts or restrictions to their creativity and freedom of expression.

We accept any artistic expression you have created within the past 12 months before the application deadline.

Elementary (K-K4) and Middle (K5-K8) division applicants are to submit only one showcase entry file. High-division applicants (K9-K12) may choose to upload up to four additional portfolio pieces along with their showcase piece. Name your showcase file using the following format: titleofwork_applicantfullname, i.e., horses_johnsmith.

Participating in the showcase empowers you to select beneficial items that fit your specific needs and goals as you complete your online application. Simply select all that apply or choose “All of the above” on the Google form.

BATTLE OF THE TEAL PROGRAM - GENERAL QUESTIONS

The attributes of the teal color resonate with our vision and mission as it symbolizes elegance, creativity, calmness, concentration, uniqueness, and infinity. Individuals who are drawn to or favor teal are likely to be open-minded, inclined to keep their options open, and are not quick to judge situations or people. They may also possess creative and artistic inclinations.

In addition, teal is frequently used in branding for entertainment, communications, and creative industries and is often combined with lighter and brighter colors for businesses catering to children. The teal color draws its name from the common teal, a type of duck (Anas crecca), and was first recorded in the official dictionary in 1917.

Joining the Battle of the Teal art network is free. Any voluntary contribution toward the program will benefit the Northeast Ohio corridor’s youth and sustain our programming into the future. Donate.
